Engineering Manager, Electronic Products 6/2020-Present

Responsible for FutureDrive turning tool engineering efforts. Built a technical partnership with Waygate, the world’s leading borescope manufacturer, unified a path forward for common technology development. Resulting integration and automation created the world’s leading engine inspection capability.

  • More than doubled legacy system sales to $4M+ by enhancing responsiveness and customer satisfaction via technical, quality, and process improvements.
  • Improved engine inspection processes by 50% using existing hardware.
  • The world’s first (and only) communication / integration capability between a borescope and an engine turning tool.
  • Orchestrated the next stage of smart electronic tool development through feasibility studies, requirements development, and spearheading the actual development effort’s beginning.

The Art of Diesel -- Web Content

Modified a turbo diesel automobile to achieve over 300 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque while maintaining 38 mpg highway.

  • Pushing toward 400 hp in current efforts and sharing technical information on our Substack, plus YouTube, Rumble, and a number of other platforms.

Anti-Censorship Technical Committee

Working with industry leaders to develop censorship-resistant technologies in Anti-Censorship Technology Committee efforts.

  • Introducing followers to solutions including ContentSafe, CensorGuard, TimeSafari, Qortal, and others via panel discussions and social media.
  • Working with several of the creators of these systems to build the next steps, and a new product is under development.

App Development for The Jolly Roger Telephone Company

Engineered, proposed, and developed an app for The Jolly Roger Telephone Company, implementing unique telemarketer-defeating services on smartphones.

Producibility Project Manager 8/2014-5/2020

Directed multidisciplinary lean manufacturing efforts, significantly reducing significant supply chain and in-service disruptions across the defense portfolio.

  • Achieved over $6M in supply chain disruption savings within the first year of producibility efforts.
  • Pioneered the use of Agile/Scrum methodologies in the aerospace field, now used widely at Rolls-Royce.
  • Advanced a vision for blockchain-based provenance within the Rolls-Royce Defense supply chain to improve tracking of parts, processes, quality, and to fight counterfeit parts.

System Lead 11/2007-4/2014

  • Spearheaded the development of innovative next-generation inlet and exhaust performance and survivability technologies, including a multi-year, $20M+ plan to achieve company goals.
  • Directed cross-functional teams to guarantee seamless integration and execution of innovative technology efforts. Demonstrated developing capabilities to airframer and government customers.
  • Leveraged existing hardware, returned $3M to management reserve while designing a first-of-its-kind three-stream exhaust system.

Frontier Astronautics LLC, Chugwater, Wyoming

Cofounder, Designer, Test Lead 1/2005-9/2007

  • Co-founded Frontier Astronautics to develop propulsion and attitude control systems for private space customers.
  • Designed and led testing of a hovering rocket-powered demonstrator, SpeedUp's Laramie Rose, at 1/10th competitors’ cost.

Senior Communications Engineer 3/2002-2/2007

  • Developed space warfare tactics and performed collateral effects analysis in support of military engagements and exercises. Products were used directly by Undersecretary of Defense in approval processes.

Aerospace Engineer & Program Manager, Captain (O-3) 3/1993-3/2002

  • Space CHOP Program Manager, provided services simulating asymmetric threats against US space and missile systems. Developed red-team assessments of vulnerabilities, developed feasible enemy tactics, proved threat potential with hardware demonstrations. Took over the program when it was out of money, secured SMC funding and the program continued for seven years afterwards.
  • Deputy Program Manager of Solar Orbit Transfer Vehicle (SOTV), leading the development of technologies for responsive on-orbit, high-efficiency propulsion, maneuvering, and radiation-hardened power.
  • As a Fighter Flying Qualities Analyst, performed intelligence analysis and foreign materiel exploitation of a prominent threat aircraft.
  • Managed over 150 simultaneous materiel improvement projects on the AC-130U Gunship program.
